Venturing into Painting Soon

So...yesterday was my bday and everything, whatever right?

Anyway, I got some canvases and acrylics to start painting with. I just need to go out and buy some brushes, a mixing pallet and .... I don't know a backup imagination to help with painting. Haha, I think I'm gonna start really getting into it, I've been looking through art books and been inspired by other artists on here like this guy [link]

So expect something involving paints soon, if I like what I do enough I'm gonna start selling at First Friday, the monthly art walk in downtown Phoenix.

I also got a pretty sick lightboard for drawing cartoons on, so maybe expect some new animations too B) looks like this is going to be a really creative/interesting month for me. I'm taking myself into new territory and I'm excited.

No problem. You have 'critique requested' on them so I figured I might as well. I try to be pretty honest without coming across as harsh or anything. But you really do take some great photos, I enjoyed going through your gallery.

Cool enough, check it out whenever you can. I really like what you're able to do with acrylics. Especially your 'urban' piece and 'The Journey' piece. Both have a very soft, simple beauty to them.

hey man, I scoped out your gallery. Very interesting stuff~are you in art school or just draw for fun?

Yes..the Urban piece and The Journey were both done for the intent of selling them on ebay. Urban sold..I still have The Journey right here in my studio.
I use a technique similar to watercolors, wet and thin, then gradually get dryer and thicker with the paint. Very Fun to do those looser pieces like Urban!

Thanks for checking my stuff out, I mostly just do this for fun for the time being. I'm actively looking into The Art Institute though, it would be nice to further my education. I'll be taking animation and multimedia courses.

And I really do dig your style. I've been considering broadening the mediums I work in lately too, I was thinking something like pastels or acrylics and after seeing your work I may try the latter.
